This was the first pair of ballet slippers I purchased and I love the "hybrid" style shoe - leather with canvas really does make the arches look amazing. If you sew the elastic properly to to portion where the canvas comes to a point, the shoe will fit like a glove and feel like a cloud. The insides are very soft and this is just all-around comfortable, durable shoe good for any level of dancer. I highly recommend these shoes!

These shoes make my arches look fantastic. I got them in black for a recital, and now I'm hooked.
They are extremely comfortable, and true to size. The heels felt a little thick on the bottom when I first got them but that will wear down a little with time.
I love Bloch's jazz shoes and ballet flats. They hold up really well, feel like they were made for my feet, and don't fall apart easily. If you want them to fit like a glove, buy all your Bloch shoes 2 to 3 sizes smaller that your street shoes. I like this cut of ballet flats much better than the Bloch SO258L Economy Split that my old studio required. If you have a choice in shoes, it's worth paying a bit more for the these Prolight II Hybrids. I just wish the elastic they come with came pre-sewn. I'm lazy.

I was hoping these would fit but didn't work that way. The child wears a size 2 shoe but these are even too short, as well as quite tight for her. So I guess she needs the wide size instead, although for regular shoes she is fine. Sizing is a major problem when buying online. The shoe is good quality and well made and easy to wear. But the sizes run a bit small.

Why are these called "adult slippers"? As I know the adult size range it starts at either 5 or 6 US.

This shoe runs very big. I ordered as if I would a normal shoe that is not wide. The shoe is very big on my foot and I am unable to wear them.

These shoes are the best I've ever tried. I used to wear only split sole ballet slippers and would have never even dreamed about wearing a full sole, but I needed black slippers (I didn't get them from here) for my Halloween costume one year and could only find full sole (Dansofts) so i had to buy them. Then on Halloween, wouldn't you know it, it rained and I couldn't wear them. At the time I was very mad, but now I'm glad I didn't get wear them because they would've beed ruined, but now I can wear them now for dancing. They last a long time and mould to your foot fast. If mine get dirty or dusty on the bottom (or top) I wipe it off with a damp, but not too damp paper towel and they look almost new. Also, the full sole seems to make you work slightly harder to arch your foot to it's full potential and keeps me from knuckling my toes. Now that I've tried these I'm never going back to split sole. I wouldn't even switch shoe models - even if they looked and performed very similiar or identically. I like to stick with what I know, and now this is what I know. The only downside is that on occassion the shoe will form a small "bubble" under the ball of you foot while pointing. This can be fixed by simply taking your finger and pushing the "bubble" against you foot (that's still pointing). Since you can't keep constantly pushing in the "bubble" while dancing it might not be the best shoe for performances, but is fine for class as the "bubble" should not disrupt the formation of the arch or hinder the quality of dancing. It just won't make the feet look as streamlined or defined as they would in a slightly more conforming shoe. But in the end I think the pros far outweigh the cons. And you definately can't beat the price :)

I am not a ballet dancer, but I do ballet dance workouts for exercise. I wanted a ballet slipper to get more into the mood of the dance so I saw these ballet slippers. I thought they would be exactly as pictured online. How wrong I was. The elastic bands are not attached, they have to be sewn in and there is a string to pull to help close the slipper and make it snug but the string is very long and has to be cut. Maybe this is how ballet slippers are typically sold for perfect fit but that was not disclosed in the description. Worse thing of all, the shipping cost as much as the slippers did. I would never buy from this provider, I'm pretty sure it did not cost $14 to send, it came via USPS. I did not return it because that would cost me even more money.

I bought these slippers as a Christmas present for my sister. I was really disappointed in the condition that the slippers arrived in. The box was so crushed either from insufficient packaging protection during shipping or they were plucked from inventory in that condition. In either case, I couldn't wrap the box and had to throw the slippers in a gift bag. Since Capezio is a good brand for ballet slippers, it would have been nice to have given her the gift in the box.

I purchased these shoes because I've always trusted capezio but the shoes just do not hold up well at all. I use them twice a week and have for the last 5 weeks and they already look awful like i've had them for years. The gathering on the bottom is beginning to come undone already too. I would suggest looking for a better model of shoe.

I dance in a University company and my shoes were looking a little worn out; so, I decided to order these for class purposes only. I wear a 7 in street shoe size and ordered a 7. They did fit in that way. I have a slender foot I suppose, because even after tightening my elastics they were still too wide (slightly). It is still a nice shoe for class and the other elastics i just tie in a knot and wrap around my foot.

I orderd these tap shoes because I needed them quickly. I called the 800 number to speak with a customer service representative to get the sizing of the shoe. They assured me they were street size. I ordered the street size for my daughter and they were 1.5 size too big. I called customer service to voice my opinion and they agreed to waive the $35 exchange fee. I found it cheaper to just purchase another pair of shoes vice mailing back the one's I purchased and waiting I don't know how long for the exchange. However, I do love the shoes and they are of good quality for the price. You can hear the sounds very pronounced and clear.

These shoes are a great deal for the money. They are not real leather so it also a good vegan option. They fit true to size; I ordered a half size larger and it is a little big. Instead of returning I am just using thicker socks which help making the shoes a little bit more comfortable. I am not a professional tapper and I only use them about twice a week, so for me it's an awesome deal. Eventually I will have to fork out the money to buy better shoes, but for now they are fine and the shoes have met my expectations.

These shoes work well, but are very uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend them if you have to wear them for more than 15 or 20 minutes. I use them to practice with my daughter; they work fine for that.

Great Sneakers!!! Most comfortable I have ever purchased.
I am so glad that I ordered 2 shoe size numbers higher than my normal size, otherwise they would not have fitted. I got that tip from reading other reviews.
thanks

I purchased these dance sneakers specifically to wear for the Zumba class I have begun taking each week. Ordinary sneakers just didn't seem to work. The shoe proved to be an excellent choice for my purposes -- lightweight, comfortable and easy to move in. One word of caution, though: The Web site I bought them on advised going one size up from what I normally wear. Since the shoe only comes in full sizes, I decided to opt for a 9 instead of my usual 8 1/2, assuming that would provide plenty of extra room. Wrong! My big toe practically hits the tip of these shoes. They work well enough with a thin sock. BUT I could have used a slightly larger size. If you wear an 8, go for a 9. Trust me.

I was afraid these would be too small as I ordered just one size larger than my street shoe and so many reviews said to go 1.5 or 2 sizes larger. I normally wear a 7.5 and ordered 8.5. The 8.5 is perfect, but it would be too big if I was wearing these in a real dance class. Please note that these are *dance* shoes. I am wearing them to Zumba class. I tried several other pairs of shoes and they were all too sticky. These allow me to twist and turn easily. I'm really happy with them, but I may go down half a size next time.

These shoes are a must if you have the Tracy Anderson Dance Cardio workout. I kept twisting my knees (a bit uncomfortable!) when trying to learn the choreography for the workout - which has it's good share of turns. Dance turns and running shoes just don't go hand in hand.

I put them on and was so thrilled that i could do a complete turn without injuring my knees =) The workout felt completely different in these shoes. I felt a lot more calf work than I did in my running shoes. Great arch support, very comfortable...Highly recommended!!

Make sure to order a size and a half or two sizes higher than your regular size. I wear 8 1/2 in normal sneaks and ordered a 10 in these shoes. If you wear thick socks then go two sizes up.

When I startered excercising at home using Latin dance workout DVDs I quickly realized that regular sneakers are not comfortable. I read reviews about different types of dance sneakers, then went to the store to try them on. Here is a synopsis:
Capesio's were least comfortable of all. Bloch had 2 models that I liked -DRT 0538L and 0528L. To me DRT 0538L holds the foot better and is more comfortable. Sneakers fit very snuggly and you have to go 1 size up of your normal street size. At first I thought I would need to go even 1,5 sizes up. But they do strech a little, and you don't need your foot to wobble while dancing. I think 1 size up is more than enough. The shoe is made of suade and synthetic material which helps it "breathe". Heel cushion is very well made, so as the sole cushioning. I have been using these sneakers for 3 months now and did not notice any signs of wear. They still look new and are very comfortable. I would say this is a perfect sneaker for any type of dancing, especially if you have to learn steps in the begginning.

I bought these shoes to wear to my salsa classes a few years ago. I am impressed with how well they have held up and how comfortable they were from day one. They give me the control to actively dance and are similar enough to my ballroom heels that the transition is easy. If you are dancing frequently in a learning environment, these shoes are fantastic.

I tried these on in a store to find my size and then purchased them online. A little rude to the store, but a must for getting correctly sized shoes at a reasonable price.

I wear a size 8.5 or 9 (depending on the shoe) and I ordered these in a 10. I have a wide foot so they feel a little tight for the first 10 minutes of class, but I think if I had gotten a 10.5 my heel would come out of the back of the shoe. I wear them for fitness classes that have lots of dance moves and they work well. They do slip when the instructor throws in push ups or lunges, things like that where you need good grip on the floor. Very good for making turns, spinning around, and dancing on the ball of your foot. They also give the foot a nice shape when you point your toe. Good arch support. Well made.

I'm a casual dancer, and I never go on pointe, so I got these just for comfort and looks. They're winners on both. Be sure you like lots of arch support if you're a casual wearer! I take a women's 9.5-10 usually, and the 11's are just right on me. Vegan Recommended!

I like the shoes but the reviewers were right-they are narrow. I ordered a size up and they are ok. If anyone knows of a dance sneaker that works for wide feet, I'd love to hear about it!

I purchased these shoes for my 13-year-old daughter, who goes to contradance events several times a year. They were perfect, light and comfortable. Also, she is a vegetarian, so the fact that they are leather-free is appreciated. She wears 8 to 8.5 shoes normally. We ordered size 9.5, which fit her perfectly.

I love them. Feels like I'm dancing on marshmellows. Using them for ballroom dance.
